11.01.00 | "MST3K: The Movie" to cease being
produced
and sold on VHS and DVD
"Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie" will cease being produced on
video (VHS or DVD) as of Spring 2001 due to a dispute between Universal
Studios and Image Entertainment. Universal
Studios is suing Image Entertainment who had contracted the rights
to release "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie," arguing that Image
Entertainment was selling the title for too low a price.
Keep your fingers crossed that this dispute is resolved soon and without
a lapse in the production of "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie!"
But just in case... better get your copy today...before they're all
gone!
