Movie Summary  Movie: Hangar 18:  Shortly after the launch of an extremely slow moving satellite from the extremely slow moving space shuttle, the extremely slow moving satellite collides with an incredibly fast moving U.F.O. and all in front of the eyes of astronauts Steve (Gary Collins), Lew (James Hampton), and especially Gates, who had been watching the satellite's progress from the cargo bay. Two things are quickly lost; the satellite feed to NASA and astronaut Gates' head. The U.F.O. makes an emergency landing in the deserts of Arizona and the remaining astronauts come back to Earth to land in a neat little government cover-up. You see, there is a presidential election coming up and Robert Vaughn, the White House aide, feels it would be better to hide the crashed U.F.O. for awhile...inside Hangar 18. Blamed for incompetence, Steve and Lew's U.F.O. accounting is summarily ignored and the telemetry tapes will most certainly not be checked for any U.F.O. evidence. Undeterred, Steve and Lew decide to rent a car...or a truck from the sole airport attendant in Bannon, Arizona and go looking for the U.F.O. to clear their names. The cover-up lasts only long enough for a couple of car chases, a few dead feds, a scene with a heated Robert Vaughn, and Lew to get killed off, before Steve is brought to hangar 18. There, Steve meets up with Harry Forbes (Darren McGavin), who has been poking the aliens and their spaceship. The aliens, it turns out, are uncannily similar to humans and are just two plump bald guys in black leather. Trust no one involved in this movie.
